Varel’s pump out plug is an autofill tubing plugging device connected at the end of the tubing against which pressure is applied to set hydraulic set packers. It avoids the need to rig up wireline/slickline for plug setting and suitable for deviated/horizontal wells that acts as limitation for running slickline for plug setting. After the desired pressure is achieved to set the hydraulic packer then required additional pressure is applied to shear out the pump open plug.
